According to Scientific Reports, researchers searched for a correlation between time spent in nature and a person's wellbeing. After conducting self-conducting surveys of nearly 20,000 people, a positive correlation was confirmed between time spent in nature with good health and wellbeing.

The researchers wanted to determine the "right" amount of time a person has to spend outdoors in order to receive health benefits. It was determined that spending at least 120 minutes a week significantly increases happiness and overall health. Although for, people who spent more than 200 to 300 minutes outside reported little to no difference in wellbeing compared to the 120 minutes. Some even reported a decline in happiness and health.

One hundred twenty minutes may sound like a lot, but it is only 18 minutes daily. Some ways to spend time in nature include outdoor yoga, hiking, and walking in the park. Spending time in nature does not have to mean that you are actively moving or working out. You can still gain these benefits by sitting in a comfortable chair in your backyard just enjoying the natural beauty of the outdoors.
